We are looking for someone to help us continue development of our Better Notifications for WordPress plugin.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of PHP
  • Previous experience of building WordPress plugins using the Settings API
  • Be based in the UK but we’ll consider anyone with good written and spoken English skills
  • An interest to work on the project into the future
  • Be able to commit time to the project on a weekly / monthly basis

This would most likely suite a freelancer charging an hourly rate and we’re happy to pay going rates in order to see quick development of the plugin.

Plugin Background

The project started life as a need to scratch an itch but it has good potential for growth based on some great feedback and a strong roadmap that we have developed. The plugin itself is only in beta and has had over 1,600 downloads in just over a year. The majority of cosmetic work to move it out of beta to a 1.0 release has been done so it just needs wiring up. We’re looking to build a relationship with someone that also sees the value of the project, cares about the work they do and writes efficient code. They may also make suggestions to the roadmap, although this isn’t a requirement.

Future work will naturally depend on how well the release of 1.0 goes but the intent is to keep developing for at least the next year.

If this role sounds interesting to you and you’d like to know more, please drop us a line via our contact form.

UPDATE – 30th September 2014: We’ve now found someone and are planning to get a new release of the plugin out by November.
